What do you do for a living?

I am an award-winning writer and editor – I have my own agency called Content Collective that makes content for brands both big and small.

But increasingly I’ve noticed that work comes to me personally. I think these days people like a personal (rather than an agency) approach.

What does that mean day-to-day?

It really varies! I’ve been working on two magazines simultaneously over the summer so I’ve embedded with those brands (Kuoni is one, Tao Philippines is the other) helping them to tell their story.

But I also pitch stories to newspapers and magazines as a writer (although that’s had to take a back seat lately). And I have a few creative projects on the go too.

What do you love about magazines?

The look, the feel, the smell! I’ve loved magazines since I was a child and would sneak off with the supplements from the Sunday papers. I grew up in sleepy Devon in the 1990s when the UK was at the forefront of art, music and fashion.

I love how a magazine serves a community, no matter where they are. And I love the art of it. Making words and pictures work together to tell a bigger story.

Tell us one thing not many people know about you?

I once went on tour with Girls Aloud as their wardrobe assistant!

Where can we connect with you?

I’m on Instagram or my websites are elliefazan.com and contentcollective.uk. My email is hello@elliefazan.com
