Design, production, layout and editing of magazines. And always researching other magazines.
What do you love about magazines?
Every tiny detail! The look and feel, fresh ink, white space, typography, images and stories — magazines are more than just a source of information; they’re an experience, bringing the subject matter to life.
We visit Germany a lot due to my partner being brought up there, and their newsagents are the magazine equivalent of Willy Wonka’s factory for a chocolate lover.
So much print on so many subjects. I have to be dragged out clutching a copy of Il Freunde, a football magazine with just the greatest typography and photography.
Tell us one thing not many people know about you?
I have designed and edited 6 issues of my own fanzine, Start, bringing together my love for mod and northern soul clubs, style and music and getting to play with type.
