And will be doing a talk on Community is the new circulation

About Mila’s Talk
Independent magazines today are rarely just publications. They are meeting places for people who share interests, values, and ways of seeing the world.
Mila Moisio, co-founder and editor of TAUKO Magazine, shares her story and how a small sewing magazine from Helsinki grew into a global community of makers, designers, and readers. Rather than focusing solely on distribution and sales, TAUKO has built its growth through participation: inviting readers to contribute, creating shared projects, hosting conversations, and connecting people across borders.
The talk explores what it means to build community through print in a digital age and why niche audiences can be incredibly powerful. Mila reflects on how independent publishers can create spaces where readers feel a sense of belonging – and how magazines can evolve from products into platforms shaped together with their communities.
