The International Magazine Centre presents the second year of ‘Magazine Momentum’, a 12-month strategy and accountability group course, supporting you to drive your independent magazine business forward.
Magazine Momentum is for independent publishers with ambitious goals in both their careers and their publications. We base the course on our key values: bravery to learn more, intentionality in decision-making, and accountability in our behaviour.
This is for people who are committed to making their magazine grow as a business – where you’re driving change, not just taking the back seat in your career.
We’re here to make you feel braver, and to help you make intentional choices in your business that push you toward your goals.
What does Magazine Momentum include?
- Monthly 90-minute online strategy and accountability meetings.
- Group discussion and themed activities around your publication.
- Monthly homework to get you closer to your goals, with progress reports delivered through your own video recordings.
- Content resources to further your learning.
- WhatsApp group to share questions, feedback and inspiration with your cohort.
- An exclusive targeted one-on-one session with International Magazine Centre founder and director Nikki Simpson during the year to focus solely on you.
What happens during meetings?
At the beginning of the Magazine Momentum course, you’ll set a task to work towards over the year. This might be something specific like launching a membership, or could be as broad as increasing reader numbers. Each month your cohort will help you to step closer to your goal, holding you accountable and supporting you through ideas and feedback.
Meetings are also opportunities for you to learn from targeted teachings that will help your business. Each meeting will be themed. Topics we’ll cover include: Setting Targets, Reader Surveys, Media Packs, Advertising Sales, Newsletters, Engagement Processes, Distribution, Brand Positioning, Social & Video, Events & Brand Extensions, Visibility, and more.

When: The first week of every month, beginning January 2027
- Cohort One will meet 9.30am-11am London time on the first Wednesday of every month
- Cohort Two will meet 2.30pm-4pm London time on the first Thursday of every month
Group Size: Places are limited to seven people per cohort
Price:
- Non-members: £90+VAT per month, or £900+VAT paid at the beginning of the year
