And will be speaking about A gameplan to launch – looking for opportunity

About Kevin’s talk

You’re itching to launch, but what are the ingredients you need to create a winning magazine? We’ll look at where you can find opportunity, how to put the jigsaw of publishing pieces together, when’s best to dive in and what you need to know and, crucially, identify that you really do know a lot already

About Kevin

After leaving the London College Of Printing in 1981, Kevin became Editorial Assistant on Citizen’s Band magazine. It was the hot tech of the time, and the birth of some enterprising publishing. After editing What Hi-fi? at Haymarket Publishing in 1983, he became Publisher of What Car?, Autocar, and Practical Caravan. In 1994, he was the launch publisher of FourFourTwo and, the following year in a swerve from men’s magazines, published teen girls’ mag Sugar in the UK and later in Germany, while directing publishing operations in Australia.

In 2004, he launched Wedding Ideas, selling the business at the top of its game, when the magazine became the biggest-selling in the UK. In recent years, Kevin has been Development Director of Archant and, since 2022, publisher of Pitch, a magazine brand that publishes high-quality, slow-moving magazines in sport and music.
