Every article has a source, every source deserves credit
In 2025 bot traffic on the internet overtook human traffic for the first time ever (Cloudflare Radar), meaning there are more bots crawling the internet, and your webpages, than there are humans.
Many of these bots are linked to AI models, either for retrieval as part of an AI search for answers, or they’re scraping your content for training.
It feels like now is the right time to change how we as publishers think about bots. Instead of blocking them, let’s monetise them.
If they’re crawling your webpage anyway, you may as well get paid for it, right?!
That’s what I’m here to help with at the Mag Meet.
What you will learn
In this hands-on workshop, publishers will see how bots are showing up as a new audience segment, how to manage it, and how to monetise it.
You’ll also learn what’s happening to your own content after hitting publish, how to measure it, and what to do about it.
What you’ll come away with
First, see how an article appears across the web and how it’s reproduced in AI outputs.
Then we’ll build a practical, one-page Evergreen AI-Readiness Plan.
You’ll identify your five to ten most valuable archive pieces, assess their current exposure and choose one action to take immediately.
And finally, I’ll show you how you can set yourself up to monetise bots who visit your site to read and crawl your content.
Participants also receive Writers’ Bloc’s prompt guide for testing LLMs, and as a bonus, everyone will get my publisher pricing manual featuring 31 pricing strategies to explore that can help you boost revenue.
About Writers’ Bloc and John Byrne

Writers’ Bloc helps journalists and publishers get paid when AI uses their work. We fingerprint every article, track its use across the web and in AI outputs, and create clear evidence when content is used without permission or payment.
John founded Writers’ Bloc after 12+ years in business development and corporate finance, including media rights financing. His goal is to bring journalism the rights infrastructure already established in music, film and video games, to make it simple for creators to earn royalties when their work is used.

Writers’ Bloc helps journalists and publishers get paid when AI uses their work. We fingerprint every article, track its use across the web and in AI outputs, and create clear evidence when content is used without permission or payment. We also help rights holders monetise content by requesting payments from infringers and charging bots for access.
Writers’ Bloc does three jobs:
- It proves who wrote what first
- It catches copies wherever they surface, whether that’s across the web or in an LLM
- And it charges the AI bots for access to your work
Our mission is to build a rights marketplace where publishers and journalists get paid fairly for their work, whilst AI companies get simple, legal access to trusted, high-quality content from reliable sources.
The “bloc” is the collective of journalists and publishers, banded together as one negotiating party: freelance journalists, small publishers and niche B2B operations, the people who get scraped the most and paid the least. Time for that to change.
Individually you’re a takedown notice. Together, you’re a force that AI companies have to negotiate with. A proper market instead of a risky lawsuit.
