What do you do for a living?
I’m a freelance journalist, writer, editor, and founder of Capra Falconeri Traveller, an independent magazine that explores travel, culture, and heritage stories from my homeland, Pakistan.
Alongside this, I teach and run workshops on feature writing, storytelling, and writing for international publications.

What does this mean day-to-day?
No two days look the same. Some days I’m teaching students how to craft compelling features, other days I’m in the field reporting. I also spend time editing and curating pieces for my magazine, and pitching stories to outlets such as Al Jazeera.
It’s a mix of writing, mentoring, researching, and storytelling in different formats.
What do you love about magazines?
I love the way magazines create space for depth and discovery. They allow stories to unfold slowly, to bring in colour, voice, and context that news cycles often overlook. A good magazine feels like a journey, curated, thoughtful, and personal.

Tell us one thing not many people know about you?
I’m in the process of establishing a luxury tea brand, blending storytelling, heritage, and travel into something people can experience in a cup.
