Manchester: Power of Print brings together a panel of editors and creatives from across the UK’s independent magazine landscape, spanning fashion, art, and business.
Magazines are an integral part of our culture, perfectly placed to signal your tastes, your values and your creative world. From student zines to collectible editions, Manchester: Power of Print will spotlight why print continues to thrive and how it remains a powerful cultural marker.
Our speakers will be talking all-things-magazine:
Manchester-based Sam Loat will tell us about nathan. magazine, his pre-loved men’s fashion title, and how he’s creating a community of people with a love of sustainable living
Freelance editor Joanna Cummings talks to founder of Freelancer Magazine Sophie Cross, about how her marketing, events and connections to her readers has driven subscriptions
Adam Griffiths, designer, art director and lecturer at Manchester School of Art, tells us about his Storehouse Editions project set up to support, nurture and grow the next generation of independent publishers.
With an incredible selection of indie magazines on sale from Catalog, this event is a unique opportunity for Manchester’s student and creative communities to hear from some of the most exciting names in modern publishing. A relaxed networking session will follow the talks in the inspiring surroundings of the CUPRA City Garage.
