What do you do for a living?

I build Neesh, a marketplace that connects independent publishers with design-forward retailers. Neesh creates a new path for magazines to reach readers by helping them sell directly to shops that value design, storytelling, and culture. It gives publishers the control and margins of self-distribution along with the visibility and credibility that come from wide retail placement.

We work with both sides of the print ecosystem. Publishers use Neesh to get their titles into cafés, boutiques, galleries, hotels, and record stores across major cities. Retailers use it to discover and stock the world’s most interesting independent magazines without the usual friction. Our goal is simple: make it easy for print to move through the world again.

What does that mean day to day?

Most days I am in conversation with publishers, learning about what they are making and where they want their work to live. I visit shops, talk to owners, and understand what kinds of stories and visuals connect with their customers.

I also spend time building the product itself with my brother and a small team of developers. One hour I might be discussing cover art or price points, the next I am mapping supply routes or refining features that help publishers see where their magazines are selling.

The work sits between creativity and technical supply chain, which is exactly where I like to be.

What do you love about magazines?

I love all forms of physical media, but magazines hold a special kind of energy. They capture a specific time and place, a subculture or community in motion. Each issue is a record of thought, art, and feeling that can be held, shared, and remembered.

Tell us one thing not many people know about you?

I am a vinyl DJ and host a radio show in Portland, Oregon where I play highlife, afrofunk, and disco. It is a space to connect global sounds and histories through rhythm and storytelling.
