What do you do for a living?

As Co-Founder and Managing Director of In Real Life Media, I lead a strategy and execution studio built to transform independent magazines into resilient, revenue-generating platforms— without compromising what makes them culturally magnetic.

I work with founders, creative agencies, and brand teams to leverage magazines for increased ROI. That means building clear positioning, scalable revenue systems, and strong back-end infrastructure — the things most visionary teams don’t have time to do, but can’t afford to skip.

What does that mean day-to-day?

I spend my days working shoulder-to-shoulder with founders, helping them move from instinct to infrastructure. And I work with brand partners to reimagine what meaningful, high-attention media alignment actually looks like.

Beyond client work, I’m active in the broader conversation about where print is headed and how we can ensure it survives this moment with integrity. I’m one of the voices behind Case Sensitive, a thought leadership conference unpacking the cultural, business, and systemic realities of print media today. We ask big questions, hold space for nuance, and invite the industry to think beyond nostalgia.

What do you love about magazines?

I see magazines as authentic archives of lived experience. Magazines help create a nuanced and dynamic reference point outside of history books so that more and more people can see themselves reflected in culture.

That sense of belonging is so important. Also, I love diving into different obsessions and curiosities via magazines. Life is nothing if you’re not obsessed!

Tell us one thing not many people know about you?

While I am constantly travelling to different cities every month for work, I’m technically based between New York and Reykjavík.
