About the panel
Our panel is a mixture of makers and also includes people who can share insights into distribution and printing.
We will talk all things magazine making from launch to distribution, printing, editorial, design, marketing, audience engagement and the all important selling strategies!
Our panel includes:
Liz Schaffer – Lodestars Anthology
Australian-raised and London-based Liz Schaffer is the founder and creative director of Lodestars Anthology, an independent magazine-meets-journal. Established in 2014 each issue explores a single country.
Italy, Sweden, Canada, Japan, and New Zealand are among the countries that have been featured.
Peter Houston – The Grub St Journal
Peter Houston has worked in publishing, print, and digital media for over 35 years. Peter is the publisher of The Grub Street Journal, a quarterly print magazine for people who love magazines.
Chris Ferrari-Wills – The Manson Group
Chris has over 20 years of experience in magazine printing. His expertise ranges from small runs to prominent household names. Chris has helped many fledgling titles through the minefield that is print and helped them to succeed.
Fiona Hamilton – Pics & Ink
Fiona has been running Pics & Ink since 2020, an online indie mag newsstand, with founder David Parker. In late 2021, they launched Free Range Mags, their themed mystery subscriptions service which aims to get great indie mags into the hands of the people most likely to love them.
Jo Cummings – The Grub St Journal plus freelance editor and writer
Jo is a freelance editor and writer, creating regular content for FIPP, Mensa and Meet the Leader. She is former editor of both craft newsstand titles and B2B publications, and is the Editorial Director of The Grub Street Journal.
