Daniel Miele #MyFavouriteMagazine

Daniel Miele, Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator for indie publisher Luath Press in Edinburgh, talks about one of his favourite titles, Huck. Huck began as a surfing title, but has evolved to be a magazine that ‘celebrates independence, seeking out the artists, activists and creative pioneers who are challenging mainstream culture.’ Dan tells us more about the content and gives a special mention to an advertiser and one of his favourite brands too.

Alan McCredie #MyFavouriteMagazine

Photographer Alan McCredie talks about his love of magazines and how, much like Desert Island Discs, he finds it difficult to choose just one – but he has a constant – Nutmeg magazine, the journal-style title focussing on Scottish football and social history. There’s also mention of outdoor lifestyle title Another Escape, and The Beano, which he read as a child and delights his son now.

Kim McAllister #MyFavouriteMagazine

Freelance journalist, writer at Connect Communications and huge magazine enthusiast Kim McAllister has a few favourite titles, but she talks here about why she loves magazines in general- the smell, the covers the tactility, the luxury of reading one. There’s mention of Vision from The Scotsman and Business HQ from HeraldScotland, for which she wrote, as well as Vogue and the title she always picks up, Condé Nast Traveler.
