What do you do for a living?

I’m the Founder and Editor of Scotland Grows Magazine, and the Host of the Scotland Grows Show. Both platforms celebrate all that is good in Scottish gardening.

What does that mean day-to-day?

It means I do pretty much everything from planning content, interviewing, recording, writing, editing, liaising with a team of contributors, talking to advertisers, collaborating with brands, marketing, keeping in touch with readers through email, socials and in our readers’ Facebook Group, and keeping my finger on the pulse of everything going on in Scottish gardening.

What do you love about magazines?

I love that the magazine brings people together through a shared interest, and that our readers can connect with each other and, through social media, directly with our columnists. Magazines build community and that’s what I love about them.

And what do you love about podcasting?

I love the connection with other people in the podcast chats. When I am interviewing, it is a very intimate chat with one, sometimes two people, and we can drill right down into the nitty gritty and forget that the conversation will go out across the airwaves – then it becomes all about the editing if it gets too friendly!

As well as adding a brand extension for the magazine, hosting the Scotland Grows Show has expanded my own network, and provided so much laughter and great stories along the way!

Tell us one thing not many people know about you?

I am a huge country music fan, like huge!

Where can we connect with you?

Scotland Grows is across socials @ScotlandGrows – LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter – and online at scotlandgrowsmagazine.com.

I’d love to connect on Linkedin.
